Finally I’m writing this blog post about the biggest flower adventure I had this year – Origine.
Set in a flower farm and a 15th century chateau, 13 incredible floral designers came together to learn from two masterminds – Madison Hartley of Hart Floraland Emily Aversion of Fleuropean – amid wild fields, delicious food and infinite fun.
When you’re doing well; when you think you know and you can do pretty much anything – I realised that one can be so wrong. You might know the mechanics, techniques… but you will come to the point of realising that you are stuck in terms of the creating process. You want to try something new, but you don’t know what and how. You seem to be limited by the choices you have around you, or the colours, or the weather, or you are just in the wrong mood for something new…all the time. When I signed up for the workshop, I hadn’t yet reached that stage, but I knew I wanted to avoid it. I knew I needed some fresh air. And it was the best decision I made for my professional growth in 2019.
Working and living side by side with designers from all over the global, we shared our experience, inspiring and learning from one another. We greeted the spring together, embracing nature’s gifts, eternal and ephemeral. We used the most beautiful spring colour palette of brown, rust, mauve, dusty rose. We created beauty we got to enjoy ourselves, drowning in tulips, fritillaria, lilacs, pansies, heuchera, hellebore, and sparkles of rosé. What a gorgeous time we had.
