GLITCH STEMS are hand-painted flower stems created right here in Singapore — each one individually coloured, gradient-washed, and patterned by hand. No two stems are the same. No two ever will be.

Launched by Gathered+Styled in 2023, GLITCH STEMS began as an exploration: what happens when you stop treating flowers purely as nature's output and start treating them as a canvas? The answer is a collection that sits somewhere between floristry and fine art — vivid, deliberate, and unlike anything else available in Singapore.

What makes a GLITCH STEM

Each stem is hand-painted using a process developed in-studio, building up layers of pigment, gradient, and sometimes pattern until the stem becomes something entirely its own.

The "glitch" is intentional. Rather than seeking uniformity, we lean into variation. A bloom painted deep cobalt at the base bleeding into pale lavender at the petal edge. Marbled in rust and gold. Traced with fine graphic lines, half natural, half something you'd find in a textile archive. Each one is made once and not repeated.

That is what makes them art objects as much as flowers.

How to use GLITCH STEMS

In a gift bouquet
GLITCH STEMS can be incorporated into any fresh bouquet from Gathered+Styled. A single painted stem in an otherwise natural arrangement creates an unexpected focal point — a detail the recipient notices and remembers. Several together make a statement that speaks before the card is opened.
At events and shoots
GLITCH STEMS have been used in fashion shoots, gallery installations, product launches, and styled dining tableaux across Singapore. If you're looking for floral elements that photograph distinctly and read as considered, not decorative, they are worth building a brief around.
For weddings and solemnisations
For couples who want something genuinely unconventional, GLITCH STEMS can be woven into bridal bouquets, ceremony arrangements, and table florals. Wholesale and studio enquiries

GLITCH STEMS are available to photographers, stylists, interior studios, and event designers on a wholesale basis. Each order is made to specification — colour family, quantity — and produced in-studio by Gathered+Styled.
