WEDDING: REBECCA+JOE

Rebecca & Joe’s wild berry garden wedding.

My story with Rebecca and Joe starts waaaay back when once, Joe ordered a flower cone from me to cheer his girlfriend up. I still remember the cone I put together was one with white parrot tulips and lush greens. After that, Rebecca would order a Christmas wreath every year to hang on her parents’ door. The last time she came to pick up her order, she asked me to be their florist for their wedding! And they’re the couple every florist dreams of.

We decided on a botanical garden theme wedding with lush foliage, field elements and deep red colours with shades of dusty pink and peach. Wild blackberries, eustoma, water lilies, eryngium, roses and, of course, peonies!

And, OMG, the right venue makes soooo much of a difference! I know not everyone attends old or pretty churches, but every time I set up an office-looking church venue I feel very stressed, as it’s almost impossible to make them look nice or dressed up. Orchard Presbyterian Church is a great example of a venue that doesn’t require any decor. It’s grand, beautiful and so suited for weddings! Pew flowers, table decors, flower stands and a doorway arch – all of them looked amazing in the space, bringing up the beauty of one another.
