WEDDING: DERRICK+LYNN

There are brides who are fond of subtle hues, and there are brides who fancy deep or bright colours. And there is Lynn – a bride who chose copper as her wedding inspiration. Looking for something unusual, modern and unconventional, she chose emerald green dresses for her bridesmaids, copper kerchiefs for the groomsmen’s chest pockets and copper wire to tie her bouquet.

It was a real pleasure to work on this theme and exercise my eyes in putting together the right mix of colours and looking for that cherished perfect tone of a bloom or stem. I went for a textural look, playing with shades of copper, green foliage with a tinge of gold and peach, and mixing fresh and dried elements, spray-painted leaves, wheats and grasses.

But my favourite part was crafting the sweet beautiful bouts, carefully wiring them with the thinest copper wire I could find. It was really so special!
