STYLING: PLUM & TORO

I recently got the chance to work on an interesting project – floral and foliage styling for Japanese restaurant Plum & Toro, located at the new InterContinental Hotel, Robertson Quay, designed by Brewin Design Office. The restaurant has a beautiful prolonged space with various textures and stunning shapes: teak, mirrors, timber, green marble, white washed oak.

I went for a minimalistic design and multi-textural look, grouping the arrangements in glass vases of different shapes. It was easy to play around and mix and match. I used the most architectural elements I could find that weekend, contrasting vertical and horizontal lines to resemble the decor itself. My favourites are the single leaf arrangements, which have a green marble looking surface, accompanied by ascending beargrass, directing the light coming through the window screens.
