WEDDING: YAN ZHANG+CHANTAL

I don’t get the chance to work with whites and greens very often, but YZ & Chantal’s wedding was the perfect opportunity for me to put a new spin on the all-time classic colour palette. To say they are one of the most relaxed couples I’ve ever worked with is to say nothing. They are so easy-going, chilled, fun and stylish, so it was a real pleasure to work on their intimate event. They were so relaxed they even left their wedding cert at the hotel! :)
Eventually it reached the wedding venue, and their beautiful ceremony could take place.

I decided to interpret the classic colour palette in a more sophisticated way – I played with different hues of white: from snow-white to almost stone, and used various shades of green to create depth in the arrangement. I introduced dried elements like pampas grass, smoke bush and dried leaves in various shades like dusty ivory, tan, copper and camel, which added other accents to complement the two main colours. The bridal bouquet was tied with one of my favourite crinkle ribbons.

Paying more attention to textures, lines and shades, I created a multilayered arrangement with curcuma, tulips, scabiosa, astilbe, delphinium, blushing bride, and so much more to bring out the beauty of each flower and branch and match the couple’s outfits and the venue.
